Sunday night (running into the wee hours of Monday morning in Ghana) saw another crunch time at the 63rd Miss Universe finale which took place in Doral-Miami, Florida.
Paulina Vega from Colombia emerged as the new Miss Universe, beating 87 contestants from their different countries and succeeding Gabriela Isler of Venezuela.
The 2nd Runner Up was Miss Ukraine, 1st Runner Up was Miss Jamaica and the 3rd Runner Up was Miss Netherland. Miss Photogenic Universe was Miss Universe Puerto Rico
The #Top15 finalists in no arranged manner were: Miss Universe Italy, Miss Universe Jamaica, Miss Universe Brazil, Miss Universe Indonesia, Miss Universe Australia, Miss Universe Columbia, Miss Universe India, Miss Universe France, Miss Universe USA, Miss Universe Venezuela, Miss Universe Spain, Miss Universe Philippines, Miss Universe Argentina, Miss Universe Ukraine, and Miss Universe Netherlands.
This means that NO AFRICAN led be our own natural beauty-ABENA AKUABA made it into this year’s #Top15! This may seem unfair and outrageously been bias, but this is a competition.
Now this race is out of the way, Abena quickly heads back to the studio where she has been working on different collaboration and final touches towards her forth coming album. It must not be forgotten that she is a personality with a great voice and here competence in playing the guitar is second to none.
The night was hosted by Thomas Roberts and Natalie Morales with colour commentator Jeannie Mai. Performances were by Nick Jonas, Prince Royce and Gavin DeGraw.
