Is having blind faith in the person you love irresponsible? I mean, people’s trusts have been trampled upon, but should that let past experiences shape the way we see and trust people now & in the future? Or do we continue to give people the benefit of the doubt when it comes to trust – trusting that they’ll never betray our love?
Trust is a huge word to throw around. Sometimes, it almost feels like throwing out the baby with the bathwater. Why can’t life just be gluten free? And by gluten free, I mean without emotional stress and “wahala” (problems).
Trust is the foundation of any friendship. It is the glue that holds all relationships together. It’s hard to regain someone’s trust when it’s been broken, even if it was just once. Just like glass, it’s really hard to fix. And even if you do get it fixed, it can never be the same as it once was because how can a broken glass hold water?
Trust just like respect, is earned. Being trustworthy is everything in a relationship. What are the things you’re doing to build trust in your relationship today? Let me know in the comments.
