Dr. SONNIE BADU a renowned UK-based award winning musician, author of several books and now a pastor of the Rock Hill Church based in Atlanta, Georgia, has succeeded in advocating for the celebration of a National Youth Day celebration in the state of Georgia in conjunction with the Trinity International University.
This advocacy for a youth day on every August 12th was decided on at a meeting with the Governor of Georgia, Nathan Deal during a meeting with Sonnie Badu and Jacqueline Mohair on how he could contribute to the development of the state of Georgia with the Rock Hill Church.
The meeting with Governor Nathan deal was graced by Sonnie Badu, representatives from the Rock Hill Church and some members of Trinity International University. This meeting also witnessed the signing of the National Youth Day into effect every August 12th. This day will be celebrated as an annual event in the Rock Hill Chapel.
In an interview with Dr. Sonnie Badu, the excited singer and preacher noted that he is of believe that, this is the first of many successes to be chalked by the Rock Hill Church. He expressed gratitude to the Governor for his endorsement for the celebration of the National Youth Day in Georgia.
In a related development, Sonnie Badu in an interview with SVTV explained that it has not been easy combining Ministry in the USA and taking care of family in the UK, but he is optimistic that with the support of the family, he would overcome. In addition he noted that, he is does not intend on abandoning his music career but rather juggle it together with his new role as a pastor as music goes on hand in hand with his new calling.
