Sony has unveiled Project Q, a portable streaming device that will allow users to play PS5 games on the go. This might even remind you of the classic PSP console.

The device, which is currently codenamed Project Q, is expected to launch later this year.

Project Q features an 8-inch HD screen and two DualSense-style controllers. It will stream games from a user’s PS5 over Wi-Fi, meaning that users will need to have the games installed on their home console.

Project Q is not a traditional handheld console. It is designed for streaming games, so users will not be able to install and play games natively on the device. However, the system will output at 1080p, 60 frames-per-second, so there should be minimal compromise on visuals.

Sony has not yet announced a price for Project Q. However, the device is expected to be priced competitively with other portable streaming devices on the market.

This is an interesting new addition to the PS5 ecosystem and could be a great way for users to continue playing their favorite games even when they’re not near their home console.
