To ours is to celebrate while it’s dawn…Ghana’s very own MAXWELL ANNOH fronts BURBERRY new Fall-Winter 2019 Campaign

“My career took off in 2014. Before then I worked as a barista in a coffee shop in Accra. I never had dreams of modeling; all I wanted to be was a meteorologist. On daily basis customers that came into the coffee shop thought I would be a great model. I thought I wasn’t ready until one French man became angry at me still working at the coffee shop and not modeling… he asked me, ‘Don’t you want to make a living?’”

In making a living, MAXWELL ANNOH now gaits top international runways and covers different magazines and designers’ campaigns. With the very latest as the BURBERRY new Fall-Winter 2019 Campaign, the Ghanaian sweetheart has joined Irina Shayk, Fran Summers, Sora Choi, He Cong, Alexis Chaparro, Freja Beha Erichsen, Finn Rosseel, Shayna McNeill, Anna Ross, Kacie Hall, Heejung Park, Mammina Aker, Xie Yunpeng, Junior Vasquez, and Benji Arvay in making the ad.

Burberry’s Autumn/Winter 2019 collection, ‘Tempest’, celebrates the contrasts and contradictions in British culture and weather, from the structured to the rebellious, evolving the cues and codes first set out in Riccardo’s debut collection for Burberry last year. Throughout the lenses of Danko Steiner and Nick Knight, the campaign was set both in studio and by the sea, spreading romantic yet strong pictures in which “classic silhouettes of Burberry ladies and gentlemen end up being framed by water”.

In celebrating our own, let’s tell you that, Maxwell hails from Accra, and before his lucky break in Europe and America spent most of his time in Cape Town, South Africa, modeling for local clients. He got his national break in Ghana through The Finest Productions’ 2-year model and brand ambassador contract for billboards, television and online campaigns for Nayak Afrik 4 years ago before embarking on his career in Europe.

How can we forget the words of Media Brands & Culture icon, His Royal Highness, KKD – The Finest, when in 2015, he told that he should take his trade seriously and look beyond the shores of Ghana because he would make it out there. Fast forward and take a look (below) at all the platforms that this young man has registered his name on – then tell us if he doesn’t deserve a national applause…
