Scata Bada…Africa’s Best New Dancehall Artiste

SCATA BADA has gradually built himself as one of the youngest most consistent dancehall artistes from Ghana to the world with his impressive creative deliveries which has been on different productions, thus, leaving music enthusiasts to come into acceptance with his chic blend of Ghanaian dialect cum the Jamaican Patois without blip. His style from day one, has earned him the streets, more fan base within the shortest period of time and recently the ‘Best New Dancehall Artiste’ gong from the maiden edition of the Ghana-Naija Showbiz Awards 2017.

He shoved aside Rudebwoy Ranking, Episode, Eye Judah and Ebony to the finish line on the 14th of May, 2017, at a Blue Synergy Media concept and Motbensonz Solutions event at the Skyview, Lekki Coliseum, Lekki, Lagos, Nigerian.

Born Rashid Mortey, he started his musical career as a rapper in a group but had to go solo later on. His integration of socially mindful subject matters into his music and drawing inspiration from personal experiences, have given him the edge, with entertainment aficionados coming to terms that the time to watch out for him is now! Since taking up the mantle as one of the fastest growing dancehall lad, his praises keep mounting and at the latter end of 2016, he earned his first nomination at the Bass Awards for ‘Discovery of the Year’ act.

Sarkodie, Gemini, Jupitar, Stonebwoy, are some of the top notched that have spent time together in the boots, cooking their favorite tunes, and for a fact they can all testify that singing alongside Scata Bada is like that moment Jesus turned water into wine.
