AMAA 2016: Organizers Announce New Closing Date For Entries Submission

The organizers of the prestigious Africa Movie Academy Awards, AMAA, have announced a new date for the closure of submission of entries for the 2016 edition of the awards.

Previously scheduled to close on January 7, 2016, the submission of entries for the 2016 edition is now open till January 30, 2016. Filmmakers are expected to send in their works produced or released between December 1, 2014, and December 2015 for consideration.

The organizers made the announcement via its official Twitter account few minutes ago; “Entries for the 2016 edition of AMAA is open till JANUARY 30th, 2016. Submit your films”.

The 2016 edition of the awards has been scheduled to hold on Saturday, April 30, 2016 while nominees will be unveiled on Sunday, February 28, 2016.

It will be recalled that the 2015 edition of AMAA held on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Winners on the night include popular filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan, O.C Ukeje, Fathia Balogun, AY Makun, among others.

Also, popular film critic, Shaibu Husseini has been announced as The Academy of Jurors’ President for the 2016 edition of AMAA.
