Beyonce’s BLACK IS KING is out now and available on Disney + and it features her new video “ALREADY” featuring Shatta Wale and Major Lazer which currently got the whole world talking, especially in Africa.
Late on Thursday night 30th July, the 24-time Grammy winner dropped the new music video for “Already” from The Lion King: The Gift album, the soundtrack for the live-action edition of The Lion King.
Fans are loving “Already” already and the visual feast of a video has certainly sharpened appetites for everything else Beyonce has in store on Black Is King.
In the video, Beyoncé is seen in a number of locations, moving from outdoor nature scenes where she appears adorned in body paint in a tree, to a warehouse where she’s flanked by dancers as she shows her Afrobeat dance skills.
It also features scenes of Ghanaian dancers painted blue in Ghana, the clip highlighting the upcoming film’s inspiring celebration of being Black, from its elegant choreography and fashion to the global locations.
Black Is King features guests Jay-Z, fellow Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland, Pharrell Williams, Tina Knowles-Lawson, Lupita Nyong’o, Naomi Campbell, models Aweng Ade-Chuol and Adut Akech and several other artists that appear on The Gift album.
Black is King focuses on “the beauty of tradition and black excellence and “reimagines the lessons of The Lion King for today’s young kings and queens in search of their own crowns”.
The visual album was shot across the globe including scenes from Ghana, Belgium, Los Angeles, New York, and yet-to-be-disclosed countries in both Southern and Western Africa.
