Love is worth fighting for, but not every fight is worth battling. You’ve got to pick your fights intelligently, and calculatedly. Not every unhealthy relationship is an abusive one. Many are manipulative in nature, others, bullish.
For someone with heightened emotions, it’s unnatural to withhold love. And that can lead to melancholic withdrawals, if the energy isn’t reciprocated. No one wants to be made a fool of, and when people feel this way, they react emotionally, which in all honesty, isn’t quite the best.
Getting stonewalled can have a negative effect on a person’s confidence. People naturally want to fight battles they think they can win. No one wants to fight a losing battle. It’s the same thing for relationships; if it’s not headed anywhere, then what’s the point?
Fighting the good fight of love, takes everything we have, and more. Love is worth fighting for, because love is truly special. There’s no perfect relationship. Just make yours work.
