The boss of Roberta Annan Consulting (RAC) have been asked by some section of observers on what the way forward so far has been since the conclusion of the Miss Universe Ghana pageantry and how they performed on the just concluded world stage.
According to Roberta who heads the consulting house which runs the yearly pageantry, she has come out to state to us that plans are going on as they are reviewing their last performances. She is aware of the legal suit which may be hanging around her if she fails to live up to the billing in terms of fulfilling the promises made to the winners.
Though this still lingers, we can confirm that the 2014 winner is yet to get all her prizes and some entertainment pundits are asking, “when will these promise and fail situations ever come to an end?”
It will be recalled that Hanniel Jamin who won the Miss Universe Ghana title in 2013 raised concerns about Roberta Annan Consulting (RAC) for not fulfilling their side of the bargain, a word which the organizers have said it wasn’t true.
Roberta is still very confident that there will be no issue with prizes, even though it doesn’t seem realistic because time is fast running out, but whatever the outcome be, we shall be following.
LAST WEEK, we reported that: Roberta Annan and her consulting firm may be taken to court over the breach of contract for not meeting up to the required package as promised the winner of the 2014 edition. According to the CONTRACT which we have seen, Roberta Annan has not lived up to the billing as she has fallen below the belt in regards to awarding Miss Abena Akuaba what she duly deserved as the winner of the 2014 edition.
Walking down into memory lane a bit, Hanniel (who is half-Nigerian – her mom) was to receive a New York Film Academy scholarship, a GH¢5,000 wardrobe allowance, a management and public relations deal, monthly fees, a year’s gym membership and a trip to the world event – which took place in Russia; but she didn’t receive those packages as of the time of filing for the sue.
Roberta’s approach with Abena Akuaba may seem a little different compared to Hanniel as the latter was asked to sign a document under duress that she had received her packages, just before leaving Ghana for Russia. She had no witness or lawyer at the signing and her passport was allegedly seized.
Unfolding reports according to our sources states that just as the 2012 winner took the organizers to court on the same issue, Abena Akuaba is set to take them to court this year.
