KING OF BOYS: A story well interpreted by all the casts with no one missing out from the ingredient…YemmeYbaba reviews what he saw over the weekend

From political quasi-thriller to a work that is tart, macabre, maximalist and acutely self-aware, the movie, “KING OF BOYS” is a project with many faces. When we heard that the movie was from the award winning 2016’s ‘The Wedding Party’ by Kemi Adetiba, we knew that we are in for something thrilling. From all the reviews that have come up after individuals or groups have seen the movie, we decided to show you what Pan African Lifestyle Blogger, Adeyemi Adebayo Victor (aka YemmeYbaba) wrote on his Instagram page after he went to the cinema to see the movie.

Wheeeeew!
After a disappointing game that the Manchester United lads put up against City, it was time to get my mojo back, and a beautiful movie was the only option.

After seeing Kemi Adetiba’s “KING OF BOYS”, i must say that it is a masterpiece that will leave you asking for more from start to finish. A story well interpreted by all the casts with no one missing out from the ingredients.

The lead, Sola Sobowale didn’t only nail her character, she impeccably carried us along her role of a persona who goes from being a victim of her society to one who insists on taking charge – from childhood to her brothel lifestyle to her affluent-connected living where she is not only extremely powerful but where she controls power.

Truth be told that after you see this brilliance of a movie, you would agree with me that from the warm embracing narrative to the riverting performances (by all the casts) to the well-thought theme – Africa deserves a resounding peck on the cheek….mwuaaaah-mwuaaaah!
