Wonders will never cease to happen in this very century as the folks of Coimbatore, a southern city in India recently erected a gigantic billboard in honour of the late South African leader-Tata Nelson ‘Madiba’ Mandela; but instead featured a photo of Morgan Freeman.
What they didn’t know was that despite Freeman’s convincing portrayal of the former South African president and activist in the film Invictus, he is NOT Nelson Mandela.
According to reports from AFP, Chandrashekhar, a certain local cloth merchant paid for the billboard to go up, though he claims he didn’t see the finish work before it went up.
He added that, “We will replace it with the correct picture of Mandela.”
Among other images that were seen on the billboard included that of Martin Luther King, Jr., Mother Theresa and Mahatma Gandhi.
