PlayStation 4 lovers, this is for you as…users are now able to change their online ID

PlayStation 4 users are now able to change their online ID on PSN. Users will also be able to change their online ID via a web browser, and that feature is already available.

All PS4 games originally published on or after 01 April 2018 have been developed to support the online ID change feature, however not all games have been specifically tested with the feature.

There are no restrictions to the number of times you can change your online ID. The first change is free, and changes after that will cost $9.99. For PlayStation Plus members, it will cost $4.99 for each change after the first one.

How to change your online ID:

On PlayStation 4 console:

  • Step 1: From your PS4 go to [Settings].
  • Step 2: Select [Account Management] > [Account Information] > [Profile] > [Online ID].
  • Step 3: Enter an Online ID of your choice or choose from one of the suggestions.
  • Step 4: Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the change.

On Web browser:

  • Step 1: Sign in to your PlayStation Network account and select PSN Profile in the menu.
  • Step 2: Select the Edit button that’s next to your Online ID.
  • Step 3: Enter an Online ID of your choice or choose from one of the suggestions.
  • Step 4: Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the change.
