The AFWA team that just landed in Malabo yesterday, is already in full gear for the annual MCC18 and campaign shoot for Africa Fashion and Cultural Week Malabo 2018 (AFCWMALABO). This happened right after they successfully completed the annual campaign shoot for Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam 2018 at the Studio Nelson.
AFWA creative team hand-picked the key players who were part of it’s campaign shoot. Kevin Leslie the high-end clothing outlet made from highest quality of fabrics styled the male model. BOËM Amsterdam provided elegant and slick accesories with a distinctive elegant, contemporary but ethnic style. Blanca Mendoza is one of the biggest names in make-up artistry in The Netherlands. She has bagged many years of experience in the industry and runs a beauty salone ranking top make-up artists, beauticians, and hair stylists. Blanca is also the Beauty Director for Miss World Netherlands.
The theme ‘Bohehiam/Afrocentric’ combined with infused elements of ”Coming To America” matched-up with the theme of the upcoming event. The mood was ‘Royal’, ‘Fearless and ‘In Control’. The female model was styled out of the spring collection of none other than DAUVIA.
The team admit that its experience on this Campaign shoot was fun and at the same time challenging as it contributed of studio and outdoors experience. Started in the city of The Hague and conveyed the entire team of about 10 people to Leiden where the second leg of the shoot was conducted. The Hortus Botanicus Leiden was the selected outdoor location for various reasons:- ”it simulates a serene, tropical environment and it has a rich historical heritage. HBL, built in 1590, is the oldest botanical garden in The Netherlands. The first collection of tulips that were ever planted/harvested in Europe came from this garden”.
The team was hence flown to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea to plan its first models casting call and conduct a ‘mise-en-scene’ for the Africa Fashion and Cultural week Malabo annual campaign shoot. Due to the fact that the shoot is still in production, it is not permitted for the post strategic information to be disclosed at this time.
The Model Casting Call (MCC18) is scheduled for the 16th December in the city of BATA and 19th December 2017in the city of MALABO at the Cultural Centre Equatorial Guinea (Equatoguinean Cultural Centre).
