This is for God & Country…as VANESSA GYAN’s Post Pregnancy Boujie Express mass baby shower saw over 150 Mothers touch bliss

On May 24th, 2019, media personality and philanthropist Vanessa Gyan threw the first of its kind mass baby shower for over 150 expectant and postpartum mothers in Accra, Ghana. Gyan, who has dedicated the past two years in raising maternal health awareness through her Post Pregnancy Boujie Express initiative, held the event at Achimota Hospital.

While the expectant mothers indulged in delicious food by D’real Foods, quenched their thirst with juice from Luckie’s Place, X Natural Mineral Water, and treats from Chris Bakery, they also were educated on pre/postnatal care, CPR, and motherhood as a whole by a phenomenal team of women. Victoria Naashika Quaye, Fati Shaibu-Ali, Cecilia Johnson and Akosua Poku shared knowledge from both a professional and personal level. Mz Orstin had attendees on their feet while Nana Yaa Asabea Owusu kept the event flowing as the MC.

Each attendee was gifted with goodie bag filled with products from Faytex, Flickerwick, Ghandour Cosmetic, Molfix, Kare Woman and Keona Girly Girls Collection. They also went home with clothes, shoes and accessories which were donated to the event.

According to the CEO of The Post Pregnancy Boujie Express, Vanessa Gyan, “I wanted my mamas to leave the baby shower feeling loved, with more knowledge than when they entered the venue and know that they are never alone on this journey of motherhood and that was achieved. This was the fourth edition of The Post Pregnancy Boujie Express and I wanted to take the initiative to the next level. One thing I kept saying was, ‘I want attendees to feel exactly how I felt when I was thrown two baby showers by my friends and family’. My event planner Amie of Memories Made Events said, “we either go big or go home”. So, we went grand. Seeing the smiles on each of the over 150 expectant and postpartum mothers was fulfilling knowing they will remember The Post Pregnancy Boujie Express Baby Shower forever.”

“To those who see the vision and supported what was a memorable day, I thank you. Makam Plant Hire, thank you. To everyone else who donated, retweeted the event, or simply sent an encouraging message, I thank you. The fifth edition of The Post Pregnancy Boujie Express is loading,” Gyan continued.
