TWITTER confirms an edit button is coming + testing to commence in months

Twitter has confirmed that it is working on one of the requested features on its platform, the edit button. With the edit button, users will be able to edit their tweets. The company expresses that this has nothing to do with edit-function supporter Elon Musk who is now the company’s largest shareholder and now sits on its board.

However, the social media platform reveals that the feature will first run as a test on its paid service, Twitter Blue, in the coming months. It said the test would help it “learn what works, what doesn’t, and what’s possible”.

In a screenshot that shows the feature on the app, users are able to click on the details of a tweet, and shows a few options including the “Edit Tweet” entry.
