WhatsApp now allows group video/voice calls with up to 8 people

Video calls across various social media apps have hiked due to the COVID-19 outbreak and more people spending time at home.

WhatsApp is the latest app to advance how users can keep in touch with family, friends, and colleagues during this isolation time.

The messaging app now allows users to video or voice call from 4 to 8 people at a time. This means users can have those group video/voice calls with multiple people at the same time.

Similar to texts, the calls are protected with end-to-end encryption.

To access the new, higher participant limit on WhatsApp calls, all participants in a call need to update to the latest version of WhatsApp available on iPhone or Android today.
