#YemmeYbabaShots: Gegebi awọn agbalagba sọ, ẹtọ obirin kan wa ni ori-ori rẹ…to theirs is a ‘Crown’, to ours is the ‘GELE’ this week on Instagram

Someone once told us that, “…GELEs are beautifully appreciated when the person wearing it is in a strapless gown to tease admirers.” As to what that meant then, we still cannot tell, but what we can convey this now is that we combed the Instagram to bring to you this flawlessness. ‘Gele’ is a Yoruba word for ‘head tie’, and it’s arguably worn by all Nigerians and indeed appreciated by most African cultures. An artfully folded ‘Gele’ is part of everyday wear and de rigueur for special occasions like weddings and other high-level functions, alike. Let it be told that one can use any kind of fabric to wrap this beauty, and hand-woven cloth has long been used.
